Description

A very rare Victorian silver novelty nutmeg grater, modeled in the form of a mace or nutmeg. The hinged cover opens to reveal a further hinged steel rasp. Hallmarks struck to the inside bezel of the body and corresponding part marks to the integral frame of the rasp. Crafted by the celebrated firm of Hilliard and Thomason of Birmingham - well known for their naturalistic nutmegs. This piece is sublime!
