A very Scarce 17th Century Sterling Standard trefid dessert spoon.
London 1680-1697.
It is not only the oldest silver spoon currently in stock, it is by far the most rare that I have had for many years. Dessert spoons from this early date are very hard to find. Tablespoons come and go over the years but this is the first spoon of this size and date that has crossed my table.
Even though the date letter is illegible, the unique form of the two well stamped standard and assay marks accurately defines the time and place of manufacture.
