Description

The central lobate medallion with a classical five clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl on a fretwork and flowerhead field, the lobate spandrels with further five clawed dragons within an inner pearl border and wider meandering flowerhead border.

Chongqing was the provisional wartime capital of the Republic of China during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) Joaquim Eulalio do Nascimento e Silva, Bachelor of Laws, was an eminent Brazilian journalist, editor and diplomat who held numerous important posts including Consul General to London 1927-9, extraordinary envoy to Ankara and Ambassador for Cairo in 1934. From 1934 till 1940 was variously ambassador to Athens , Warsaw and Paris. From 1943-1944 he was summoned to Teheran as envoy before he was appointed Ambasssador to Chongqing in 1944 where he was accredited to Chang Kai-shek.
