Description
Enamel on copper.
The central portrait seated profile, dressed in an ultramarine shawl and a goldentunic with purple sleeve. surrounded by a boarder of flowers and gilded foliage. Theportrait identified by a label to verso as Louis XI - who reinvigorated Limoges enamelproduction at the end of the 15th century after its slow decline during the lattermedieval period. Attributed to Pierre Raymond, 1513-1584
