 A fabulous Lalique Ambre D’Orsay perfume bottle from 1914. The bottle is marked to bottom Lalique and the other side reads Ambre D’Orsay. The stopper at base is marked with a hand scribed number 172, which can also be found etched on base. Each corner is frosted and features a Grecian female figure. The top of lid is decorated with flowers. The bottle measures 162 mm tall. Ambre d’Orsay was first produced in 1911 by parfumerie d’Orsay. It scent is chypre-fougère, production was discontinued in the interwar period. d’Orsay as a top of the line parfumerie used bottles exclusively designed by Lalique and Baccarat. This bottle would have originally come in a silk lined case, which sadly we do not possess. The bottle is in superb condition and has no damage whatsoever. Moreover the bottle contained about 15 mls of the original perfume, which we have decanted into a vial with a screw top lid to preserve the 105 year old scent and will be sold with the bottle. A rare wonderful find.
