Norman Lindsay (1879-1969)
One of Lindsay’s finest watercolours, from his best period. A Star Explodes was painted for Tatler Magazine in London, 1932. It was published as a poster by the Magazine in this year.The work is signed and dated on the upper right and is titled in pencil verso.A Tatler stamp and stock number is also evident verso.Painted in ultramarine, the pigment has stayed fresh and bold. An excellent example of Lindsay’s work.
