A beautiful ancient Chinese Warring States period 476BC - 221BC bronze mirror.

With appropriate age commensurate alteration to the bronze this mirror is beautiful and rare. The stylized surface decoration to the back of the mirror of highly accomplished design with beautiful arrangement and geometry of the patterns and abstract motifs. At the center a raised loop to the bronze is present from which to thread leather or silk cord to hold the mirror. The once highly polished surface of the mirror verso has remnants here and there of the astonishingly fine and highly polished surface which once reflected the faces and adornments of women of the time. It is an amazing artifact with beautiful presence and lovely to handle indeed.

It measures approximately 6 1/8" in diameter by 1/2" tall to the handle.

Few individuals could have such luxuries at the time and this particular mirror with the very fine and detailed low relief decoration of abstract dragons make it a very fine example indeed.
