Bohemia c. 1790
Pair of Covered Vases
A pair of Deckelpokals, or covered vessels, with elaborate wheel-cut decoration of buildings, forest scenes, and decoration typical of Bohemian glass of this period.

At 19″ (48cm) high, a truly impressive pair.

The folds on the feet of the two vases is slightly different, but here seems no doubt that they were engraved as a pair.

A flea-bite to interior of rim on one vase – last picture.
