A very rare concave fronted mahogany chest of drawers attributed to William Trotter of Edinburgh, c1820, retaining its original floriate cast brass handles. The use of birch as secondary timbers to the drawers indicates a likely Scottish origin, and the highly unusual concave front coupled with detatched, reeded columns point to an outstanding cabinetmaker, such as William Trotter
