Pietro Labruzzi, (Tomasso) Born: 1739 Italy Died: 1805 Rome Labruzzi was a well known and respected Roman painter. He specialised in portraits of members of high society, his contemporaries and aristocrats. An example of his talent to capture a likeness of the human form is illustrated in his portrait of 1779 of well known artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi. The following drawings are presentation studies, possibly executed as a 'frame work' for a work in oil, or to give the client an idea of the composition.
