Here we have an astonishing handmade natural seed pearl heart motif necklace in 18K yellow gold circa 1900. This
Edwardian necklace is so romantic. The central motif is two cojoined
hearts tied together with a bow symbolizing marriage and eternal love.
Two either side of course there are an additional two delicate hearts
symbolizing the bride and groom. Each dainty link is set with
superb natural seed pearls. The pearls have been chosen in three
different sizes with larger pearls set in the fringe and as accents to
the heart links. These natural pearls have thick nacre and unblemished
surfaces being white with a silver overtone in color. They are
beautifully matched for color throughout. Every link here is handmade - there are no cast or machined components used to manufacture this heirloom jewel. It
measures approximately 15 11/16" in length sitting 11/16" wide on the
necklace at the entwined heart motif. The fringe section forming the
lace like front of the necklace measures approximately 5" across (399mm,
18mm, 127mm). On the back this pretty necklace secures with a
lovely click at a delicate box clasp. The pretty clasp is also set with
delicate pearls so the pearls completely encircle the neck. Professional testing concluded 18K yellow gold. It weighs 19.6 grams. The gold has a lovely bloom to it which is something beautiful to see on fine 19th century jewelry. This
is an exceptional rare necklet which would make a gorgeous addition to
any wedding ensemble or an incomparably romantic gift for that someone
special. It can be worn as a special piece each day being both pretty
but quite timeless in it's appeal. An appraisal shall accompany this antique pearl necklace. We shall ship in a presentation box for safe keeping. The photos form part of the description of this heirloom quality jewel.
