Here we have an astonishing one of a kind modernist inlaid gem and diamond ring circa 1970 crafted in solid 14K yellow gold. Designed as a superb visually striking harlequin inlay globe this superb cocktail or dress ring is certain to turn heads. All
of the inlaid gems are natural. They include malachite, lapis lazuli,
natural red coral and of course the sparkle of fine white diamonds. In total this gorgeous ring weighs approximately 14.7 grams. Inside the shank it is signed and marked for 14K gold in two places. It is currently a size 8 1/2 US and of course can be resized to any size required. The inlaid gemstone and diamond sphere itself measures approximately 21.1mm in diameter. There are 25 single cut diamonds each grain set by hand into the globe. These diamonds are SI/I in clarity and G/H in color. The total diamond weight is 0.25 carats as estimated in the setting. This astonishing modernist ring is completely handmade and is one of a kind. Just one in the world. You
rarely get to see this sort of creativity and workmanship today. It
really is such an iconic special mid century era piece that could grace
the pages of any textbook on the subject or even a museum collection.
This ring is simply superb. It is in lovely condition. There are
no repairs and no missing stones. To mention for accuracy although not
eye visible to me one section of malachite has some natural inclusions
for the stone. At high magnification there is some light wear in a few
places to the inlay also NOT eye visible. There are some scratches to
the shank which we shall almost completely polish away prior to
shipping. An appraisal is included with the purchase of this absolutely unique ring. It shall be sent in a presentation box for safe keeping and ready for gifting to that someone special. The photos form part of the description.
