An exceptionally rare Ming Xuande Chinese crescent shaped pilgrim flask, the neck of the flask displays a six character mark of the period. These rare vessels were designed to appeal to Islamic tastes. They are few surviving examples. Other notable pilgrim flasks include:

Yeo & Jean Martin in Arts Orientalis, Singapore, South East Asian Ceramics Society and National Museum Singapore, April 1978, no.28It measures 8 1/4" wide by 7 1/16" tall by 4 5/16" deep (21cm by 18cm by 11cm) This stunning 15th century Ming Porcelain flask is in good condition. There is some lose to one side of a single foot, some age commensurate alteration to the surface of the glaze here and there. There are no repairs. It presents and displays beautifully.
