One of the more difficult shapes to fire, the bowl being supported by three sinuous dolphins.
This is an actual oil lamp, and not just the shape. There are four holes for wicks, and bowl would hold oil.

Wonderful Oak Dresser Base. Wales circa 1800
The oak is well figured and has a great mellow colour, the piece is in excellent condition with elm drawer linings and back boards.
This dresser has the unusual feature of ebony used as stringing on the top board, diamond inserts to the doors and escutcheons, drawer and door openings also decorated with ebony moulding and insert panels above rope carving to corners.

Round Lacquer betel box “Kun it”
Made of woven and lacquered split
bamboo and turned lacquered wood.
The geometric panels inlaid with cut
green, red and silver mirrors (hman-zi-
shwei-cha) are inlaid into a gilded low
relief decoration of lacquer putty
(thayo).
The interior is covered with red lacquer
with geometric engraving with two
removable trays.
Such boxers were often presented as
gifts between princes or monks of high
status.

French walnut Louis XV style 3 door armoire with very good quality carving, bevelled mirrors and fitted interior, c.1890.

Silver on 14ct yellow gold floral pendant set to the centre in a twelve claw Byzantine cusp setting with an old cut diamond of estimated weight 0.51ct in matching settings to the surround six old cut diamonds and bezel set to the ends of scalloped crescent shapes a further six old cut diamonds. The crescents are grain set with small old cut diamonds and the outer tier claw set with twenty four addional diamonds below an enhancer pendant bail with three diamonds.

A fine and rare Australian Silver and cut glass Claret Jug, William Edwards, Melbourne, circa 1865. Superbly modelled, the jug features grape, leaf and vine applied silver decoration, repeated in the engraved glass body.
Interestingly, perched among the vines are a possum and bird, both of which may be unique to Edward’s known works.

Based on Cook’s First Voyage observations and one of only a handful of maps to be solely devoted to the Australia continent.
